Okay, I wish I would NEVER have to make a post like this.. but here it is.

That’s Emily, a girl I’ve known for about 10 years. That’s her face a couple of days after her boyfriend beat the shit out of her. She has to get facial surgery for broken bones, a titanium plate inserted for her “pulverized cheekbones”.

She has been amazingly open about her experience and very optimistic, retaining her sense of humour, but her ex-boyfriend hasn’t been caught yet. He beat her in Arizona but he might be out of the state by now.

His name is Chris Young. He’s a raver and a DJ. I’m not friends with him on facebook, so I can’t get any better pictures than that. But you can see that she trusted him. And he broke that trust in trying to break her.

If you see him, please call the Tucson Police. IF you know ANYTHING about him, call the police.

It’d be great if people could reblog this for her.

Wow, never thought I would have to make this post but I NEED HELP.

I have been kicked out for my life choices i.e. Gender Identification and Sexuality.

Dear followers, teachers, and the Tumblr #education community,

My name is Ray Stoeser and I am a second year English teacher at Crockett Technical High School in Detroit, MI.  This year I had the amazing opportunity to be the AP Language and Composition instructor for our school.  I work with some of the most amazing students you could meet.  Their hunger, passion, and dedication to their education is truly special.  

At the beginning of the year, the school told me they would be covering the cost of the AP exams.  We are a high poverty school and even the reduced $57 fee per exam is hefty for some of our students’ families.  When the time came to order the exams, I was informed that the school was out of funds and would be unable to pay for the exams.  I was heartbroken.  How was I going to tell my 22 students that they were not going to take the exam for which they had worked so hard to prepare?  

I couldn’t.  

With less than 24 hours before we had to order the exams, I told the administration to order all 22 exams.  College Board wasn’t going to send the bill until mid-June so that gave me some time to find some donations.  

On May 16th the students took their exams and returned to my class excited and confident about their results!

That being said, we still need to pay the bill.  My class and I are accepting donations and/or sponsors for the exams.  I have 22 students and the exams are $57 each.  We would graciously accept any denomination.  Also, if you would like to pick one of the 22 students and sponsor their individual exam with a $57 donation that student would be happy to send you a personalized “thank you.”

Occupy Tampa numbers are diminishing. The first day we protested, we had 2000-3000 people. 200 of which were ready to occupy overnight. Yesterday we had 200. 40 night time occupiers. The police have given us certain liberties, just to take them away from us. Police are even arresting people for being in the park during daylight hours, one man who was diabetic and just needed to rest his legs. Somehow everything is construed as the protesters fault. 2 protesters were charged with felony battery on an officer and they never even touched the cop. Our legal observer was charged with resisting arrest when the cop slammed him to the ground and threw his back out, forcing him to take a trip to the hospital and wear a neck brace. We sleep on the sidewalk, because very few want to risk arrest and be charged with bogus charges like those aforementioned. Public opinion of us is terrible as most people blindly side with the police. We need numbers and we need them bad! It is a lot harder for police to do something to 500 park occupiers opposed to 40. If you all get tired of the cold weather, sleet, and snow; please come to Occupy Tampa. We desperately need you.

Please repost and repost and repost! Not only for Tampa but for all participating cities. I’ve been talking to people in other cities around the US and numbers are dwindling everywhere.
